The
PL6 range is of robust glass filled polyester design and made to meet
the requirements of increased safety EExe
II applications. The enclosures offer a degree of protection of IP66 and
deluge proof.
The PL range is also available AExe II UL listed
for use in Class I, Zones 1 and 2.

Application
The enclosures have a high degree of resistance
to corrosive atmospheres and have excellent electrical insulation properties
and mechanical strength. Each enclosure in the range is designed to provide
maximum flexibility in the number of cable entries together with the optimum
terminal capacity.
The
enclosures may be supplied with fitted terminal assemblies and earth continuity
plates or as an empty component approved enclosure for final certification
by the customer after fitting his own equipment. In this case, the prefix
'Z' is used e.g. ZPL 612.

Internal plates may be fitted to give electrical
continuity between cable entries. Where continuity plates are fitted,
a cable gland having an entry thread length of 15mm minimum must be used
together with a locknut. The locknut must not be enameled or painted.

Component Approved Enclosures, Z Series
Enclosures are also available with increased
safety EExe II component approval. Additional approval is required by
the customer prior to being installed in a hazardous area.

Series Glass
filled polypropylene Enclosures
The PJB range of enclosures are available for Exe increased safety (PJB1)
and non hazardous industrial application (PJB3). The PJB enclosures are
also available in a flame retardant material. The enclosures offer a degree
of protection IP66.
Application
The enclosure's octagonal shape gives an inherent mechanical strength
and the glass reinforced polypropylene material ensures a high degree
of resistance to corrosive atmospheres and excellent electrical insulation
properties.
Earth Continuity
Earth
Continuity through the
enclosure can be provided by either an earth terminal or a metal continuity
plate providing electrical connection from gland to gland. With this arrangement,
the cable gland used must have a 15mm minimum entry thread length and
fitted with a locknut.
