Individual
Core Compound Cable Gland, Dual Certified Flameproof EExd and Increased Safety
EExe
The
purpose of this type of cable gland is to form a barrier between the individual
insulated conductors within
the cable, and prevent entry into the cable of the products of an explosion
within the enclosure.
This cable gland provides an effective inner seal on cables having tape bedding
or "soft" sheaths as in some
types of fire-retardant cables. The cable inner sheath seal of a conventional
cable gland is replaced with a simple compound filled chamber which permits
packing around individual insulated conductors. Assembly of the cable
gland compresses the packing material and distributes the compound evenly to
effect a barrier at point of entry
into enclosure. As the compound chamber is transparent, it is possible to check
that the chamber has been
effectively filled. Sealing on outer sheath of cable and armour clamping are
provided in the conventional manner.

Application a)Cables
which are not effectively filled. b) Enclosures containing an ignition source in gas group IIC areas. c) Enclosures exceeding 2 litres in volume, containing an ignition source and installed in a Zone 1 area. Function Operating Temperature |
