Designed
to supply signal/low power transmission in hazardous areas ( Zones 1 and Zone
2 potentially explosive atmospheres )Hawke product development engineers have
replaced traditional cabling splicing practices with a unique, multi-pin quick
fit system. The launch of the Hawke Ex connector marks a significant step forward
in the design and performance of this work-horse in the electrical industry.
Developed to work in exploration, drilling, offshore engineering, fabrication, process plants, drive manufacture and power generators, the Hawke Ex connectors can be used for cable to cable, cable to enclosure and enclosure to enclosure installations.
With no special tooling required for termination and installation, fitment can be carried out either on site, or for rapid change over with minimum system downtime, the work can be fabricated in the factory and simply plugged in on site. Assembly is a quick, efficient process using a suitable EExd certified cable gland. The Ex-connector is feature-rich and follows extensive product research and development with electrical engineers in the offshore, telecom, and processing industries.

- Space tubes design for ease of termination
- One piece moulding and numbered inserts for ease of wiring with pin and socket
inserts, interchangeable in both receptacles and plugs
- Metal shell, robust multi-pin electrical connectors for long term use
- Stainless steel and brass shell options
- Low resistance gold-plated pin / socket contacts 1.5mm2 to-35mm2
- Integral metalwork keying ensure "scoop proof" mating
Engineered to withstand rough handling, each product undergoes a three hour deluge test programme. The Ex range has also successfully completed testing by all relevant authorities.
Our objective has been to develop a
product that allows fast, safe, connection in hazardous areas; a product that
minimised plant downtime through ease of installation. A product that simplifies
the whole process, after all, you wouldn't hard wire a kettle would you ?
